First Post of 2011!

So, just dropping off a few sketches for today, as a bit of a sneak peek at things to come!

First off, the sketch for the new banner for this blog:

And, the sketch for my first submission to a Montserrat show as an alumna! I find this to be rather exciting, particularly since the theme for this year's Illustration Theme Show is The Wild West! Definitely one of my favourite topics, and rather appropriately timed: I already had plans to revamp all of my old "Bonnie Brown" drawings, and maybe actually turn her story into a comic. So, this gave me the impetus to actually get a move on with that project.

So, enough rambling, here's the sketch:

Excerpts from 100 Themes

In Character Creation, we have an ongoing project of making a character to utilize in 100 illustrations based on a list of prompts. My character is a female gunslinger named Bonnie trying to track down the men who killed her older brother. These are a few of my favourites so far.

All of the illustrations are brown in on illustration board in 4"x4" squares.

Bonnie herself.
