Excerpts from 100 Themes

In Character Creation, we have an ongoing project of making a character to utilize in 100 illustrations based on a list of prompts. My character is a female gunslinger named Bonnie trying to track down the men who killed her older brother. These are a few of my favourites so far.

All of the illustrations are brown in on illustration board in 4"x4" squares.

Bonnie herself.

#1 - Introduction

#2-Love

#17 - Blood

#23 - Cat

House Gremlin

Here is another assignment from Character Creation. We had to invent monsters, so I made a house gremlin - a little rodent sized creature that does all sorts of nasty things around the house, including poking needles into the ears of sleeping children. But, he's afraid of teddy bears so, really, how scary can he be?

Mostly pencil on bristol board, with water colour in the turnaround.

Random Character Creation

Here are a few random sketches and such from my Character Creation class:

Bertie Wooster (pencil on illustration board)

redesign of Harley Quinn (ink and watercolour on illustration board)

a few pencil sketches of facial expressions - they were mean to be self portraits, of sorts
